Class II Transformers

Class II Plug-in AC Transformers

The Transformer used by the DSX Controllers that require them are Class II Plug-in type with a fused secondary. The transformer is UL listed or CSA Certified and can be secured into a duplex plug. The Transformer has a 16.5VAC / 40VA rating.

The transformer requires 1 pair of at least 18 AWG wire and should be within 25 feet of the Controller. The DSX panel monitors for High and Low AC Power turning on LED Indicators and reporting the status to the PC. If AC power supplying the DSX panel is too low, it may be necessary to move the transformer closer to the panel, use a larger gauge wire, use an electrical circuit that has less of a load on it, or use an 18VAC -40 VA transformer. The transformer for the DSX panel must not be shared by any other piece of equipment and must be plugged into a Non-Switched Duplex Plug.
